Into the brink.

[Anyone at Rockefeller University Hospital looking for Fran in her usual place will find plastering the walls four crudely-painted smiling faces, each in that unmistakable tinge of blue-green.]

Hm.

Well, the good news is that my emergency room is still intact, though the tremors did leave the computer in a rather unfortunate state of disrepair. I'll need someone who can fix computers. That, or transfer a hard drive to a new one.

I regret not being able to reach Andrew quickly enough, but perhaps that was for the best. I wasn't there to verify myself, but I can assume he was bitten. And if that is the result of an unattended bite, well. I can't stress enough the importance of getting those bites tended to immediately.

If your name is plant-related, you may be at heightened risk.

Edit: On second thought, perhaps the Madaraki Emergency Room will be relocating. I'll keep you updated!

[Private to Stein, hard]

Stein. Gather what you can. We're leaving.

Dr. Stein, I certainly hope you are well.

Miss... Angelicus, was it? Would you care to join me for discussion over tea at my home? I'm sure you'd like to know as much as you can about the state of affairs around here, and I have a good deal of notes that might interest you.

Rachel! I have to thank you for your contribution to my cause, but could you do a better job restraining it if I need you again? It got a bit... excited.

Ah, but it's nothing to worry about~ I patched myself up. It's a poor doctor who can't heal herself, after all!

I suppose he'll need a name, won't he?

My my. That message was fascinating, really. I almost spilled my tea, I was so surprised! If anyone knows what it means, do let me know?

Ah, and speaking of tea! I'd like to thank you all for participating in the festivities I and Dr. Crane planned~ I'm afraid I can't find him anywhere, but at least all the interesting things happened before he disappeared. I hope you all had a frightfully fun Halloween!

Now, with all that out of the way, I think perhaps it's about time I get that meeting of the minds started, hm? I'll try to pick a time this week that would suit everybody. Please let me know if you're still interested!

Ah, it certainly has been a while, hasn't it? I can happily say, however, that I have returned to the emergency room and have managed to salvage many necessities. Though... with people relocating, my establishment may be too far out of the way to help the victimized citizens of this city.

Because of that, I'm considering relocating! But I'll need your help to do so. We can do this one of two ways: You can tell me your address as accurately as possible so I can find the most central location, or you can suggest a new location on your own. If you choose to provide me with your full address, I will of course screen the comment in case there are some of you out there who are trying to hide. If you make a suggestion, I will leave that open to the public to foster discussion.

Thank you very much for your participation, citizens!

Oh dear. Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear. I've been working myself to the bone lately! But it's all been for the best. Unfortunately, until things calm down around here, I regret to say the Madaraki Emergency Room is closed. If you need my services, you can find me at Madison Square Garden. The Emergency Room is still fully operational, if a little disheveled.

I suppose there are more important things to worry about now. It's debriefing time~ The reason I was asking for your fears in the previous experiment was that I was planning on creating a house of horrors for Halloween. It was going to be so fantastic, but there's no time to set everything up now... ah well~

ATTENTION, CITIZENS OF MANHATTAN

The Madaraki Emergency Room is collecting data for another experiment! This experiment will not require as much effort from you, the providers of data, so there's really no excuse for not participating. All you have to do is answer this one simple question:

What do you fear most?

I realize there are many possible answers to this question -- failure, nightmares, et cetera -- but I'm looking for answers that are more real. Things that could, if they wanted to, gobble you up and not think twice about it.

All comments are screened for confidentiality and your protection. Feel free to comment anonymously if you would not feel comfortable putting a name to your fears. The only data I require is your answers.

((Fran is planning on turning her apartment and the ER into a house of horrors for Halloween next in-game month because she is a terrible person. Please don't actually comment anonymously if your character decides to go that route; just label the comment as such.))

Ah... oh dear. I think I need to find more alcohol. All my bottles fell over and broke, and I almost spilled my tea! I'm just glad I wasn't operating on anyone.

Speaking of, how are you doing, Kurogane?

ATTENTION, CITIZENS OF MANHATTAN

If you or anyone you know has been injured by one of the many terrible things in this city, we intend to make the healing process easier! But before we can do that, we need a stockpile of blood from all different types of people, and we need records of your blood type, as well! And that's why the Madaraki Emergency Room is now running a BLOOD DRIVE!

If you're interested in receiving treatment or donating, you'll need to fill out a short form first. If you don't know your blood type, there's a questionnaire attached designed to help me deduce it! It's all highly scientific.

After you fill out the form, if you're interested in donating, you'll have to come to the lab in person and identify yourself. I'll check it against my records and if you've filled out your form properly, we'll begin the procedure! It's all very safe, I assure you.

Information Form

Enclosed, please find the questionnaire. )

The staff of the Madaraki Emergency Room thanks you for your selflessness and charity! Once again, you can find us at the corner of 2nd and St. Mark's. Look for the sign!

The building at the corner of 2nd and St. Mark's has long since put up a sign, written in what looks like chalk of some kind.

Sometime overnight, a second sign appears. This one looks written in blood and seems to be in worse shape. Maybe because it's written with crab blood.

Surely nothing awful can come of this.
